Job Description

AEL-Span/Walker SCM is looking for Warehouse Supervisor for our operation in Enfield, North Carolina. We are looking for the right person who shares our philosophy of Operational Excellence on a daily basis. AEL-SPAN’s primary objective is to deliver the right part, to the right place, at the right time.

Summary of Position

AEL is responsible for providing inbound-to-plant logistics services Cummins Rocky Mount Engine Plant. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely receiving of materials.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed all customer requirements for on-time, complete shipments with excellent service and quick resolution of customer complaints.
• Locate parts, including received parts, put-away parts, and parts that are not yet received but still in trailers in the yard, so as to support emergency situations and avoid interruptions and shutdown of production lines.
• Communicate frequently with the team to ensure they are effectively executing their responsibilities.
• Be present on the floor to give guidance and feedback to the team. Identify problems and work with the team for resolution. Follow up and close open items in a timely manner.
• Manage inventory accuracy at the highest levels. Understand and enforce adherence to product handling procedures, especially in regard to product identification and physical and system location procedures.
• Proactively communicate and escalate any ‘defects’ and other situations in the warehouse that could potentially have minor or major impacts.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to manage people across a large facility, ensuring team members are productive and safe, while promoting communication and teamwork.
• Knowledgeable of 5S and Lean Manufacturing Principles.

Required Skills

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
• Working knowledge of Supply Chain Management concepts and methods.
• Ability to understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace; read, understand, and communicate all safety requirements and cautions, as well as any/all operational procedures
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend English
• Work independently and produce results with minimal management guidance.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
• Proven problem-solving skills.
• High School Diploma, or GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience, is required
