Job description
The Warehouse Trainer is responsible to implement and support an effective hands-on training program for new and current warehouse team members at our Coldwater facility. The Warehouse Trainer will coach Team Members through the qualification curriculum, which includes becoming certified and operating various types of warehouse equipment (lowboys, reach trucks, forklifts, etc) and learning the various jobs and skills that are necessary to ensure Team Members can work safely and be successful in their roles. During the qualification period, the Warehouse Trainer will evaluate and monitor the Trainee’s performance and regularly communicate progress to the Trainees and their Supervisors. The success of the Warehouse Trainer will be measured by two KPIs – 90-day retention rate and average qualification time.
Responsibilities:- Be a primary resource in the building for new Team Members during their first weeks in the job.
- Walk new TM through daily activities on first few days (time clocks, breaks, cafeteria, locker room, etc)
- Ensure that new Team Members have appropriate PPE and equipment to do their job. Explain proper fit, care, storage and replacement of PPE and equipment.
- Communicate the qualification process to new team members and provide them with weekly goals / targets necessary to qualify for assigned position
- Facilitate classroom training as needed (Alchemy and other computer-based trainings).
- Evaluate and document weekly progress reports for Trainees and review with Trainees and their Supervisors until qualification is achieved.
- Assist with development of training materials, including training manuals and job aids
- Assist with identifying gaps in training and developing plans to address the gaps
- Mentor new warehouse team members throughout the qualification process
- Document and maintain new TM training records
