Schuylkill County Municipal Authority (SCMA) is seeking motivated individuals wishing to pursue a career in the Wastewater Treatment Industry. Experience in the operation and maintenance of sanitary sewer collection systems is a plus.

Wastewater Operator

A successful Wastewater Operator will have mechanical aptitude, strong communication skills, computer literacy, and education in a science related field. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, operation and maintenance of six (6) Wastewater Treatment Plants, multiple pumping stations and accessories. The successful candidate must demonstrate the skills to work in a team environment as well as an independent setting. This position requires rotating weekend, holiday, and on-call duties.

Wastewater Collection Operator

SCMA is seeking motivated applicants with experience in the maintenance of sanitary sewer collection and conveyance systems, mechanical/electrical/control troubleshooting and repair of pumping stations and individual customer grinder pumps, sewer jetting equipment, and/or other industry related equipment. Qualified applicants must possess a High School Diploma and a valid PA Driver’s License. PADEP Certified Wastewater License, experience in the wastewater maintenance field, Class B CDL and traffic control experience are preferred. Successful candidates must be safety oriented, self-motivated, and display a positive attitude.

Qualified applicants must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid PA Driver’s License. PADEP Certified Water / Wastewater Operator License and experience in the wastewater maintenance field are preferred. The Authority is willing to train qualified candidates. Successful candidates must be safety oriented, self-motivated and have a positive mindset. These positions require on-call duties.
