The Job


Monolith Productions, a division of WB Games Inc., seeks a student Character Technical Artist to help the Technical Art team in creating content for the upcoming Wonder Woman game. This person will work under the mentorship of an experienced Tech Art team to create high quality character assets for the game, including rigging, skinning, and cloth/hair simulation of game assets.

The Daily

  • Responsible for rigging and skinning in game characters for use by the animation team as well as for simulations done within Tech Art

  • Hair and cloth simulations as required by the various character designs that realistically react to physical forces

  • Exporting and viewing characters in our proprietary engine and tools, validating and troubleshooting as necessary

  • Reading and reviewing teams existing onboarding documentation and making improvements or additions as you progress through the pipeline

  • Work with other tech artists, engineers, technical animators, and animators as necessary to debug, refine and make suggestions for pipeline improvements



The Essentials

  • Proficiency in the 3d animation software Maya

  • A portfolio demonstrating the fundamentals of rigging and skinning and the ability to create believable human character movement from a full range of motion

  • Motivated to learn new programs, pipelines, and processes, both proactively on their own and under the mentorship of others

  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment while efficiently managing time

  • Must be actively enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)

  • Must be a rising Junior, Senior or Graduate Student (18 years or older)

  • Must be in academic good standing (2.8 or above GPA)

  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States. U.S. International students must hold an F1 Visa to be considered



The Nice to Haves

  • Skills in scripting, animation, cloth and hair simulation systems. Particularly in Maya

  • Experience creating and integrating characters into a gameplay engine like Unity or Unreal

  • Experience working with production software like Jira, Perforce, Confluence

And finally, what to know before applying:

  • The duration of the program is 10-12 weeks dependent on the student’s availability based on semester schedule

  • Program date options:

    • End Date: August 18th or August 25th

    • Start Date: June 5th or June 12th

  • Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.

  • Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.

  • Interviewing will take place from February through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Rate: $23 per hour USD for undergrad interns, $30 per hour USD for graduate level interns.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $27,664.00 - $51,376.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
