Job description
Evapco is seeking applicants for a full-time Welder position for second shift operation at our Madera, CA location. The Welder position Works with supervision, performs non-pressure boundary MIG welding of both galvanized and stainless-steel materials for use in the construction of cooling towers and condensers.
Essential Functions:
- Safely set-up and operate assigned welding machine to weld various steel materials in the flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.
- Prepare stainless steel, galvanized, and black steel parts for welding.
- Produce full penetration, high quality/aesthetic weld joints and maintain dimensional compliance.
- Lay down proper tack welds.
- Perform proper post weld cleaning.
- Accurately perform plasma cutting.
- Read and comprehend various engineering and production documents, drawings, and instructions.
- Performs dimensional and visual inspection of parts, assemblies, and final product as directed.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
- Minimum 2 years weld experience.
- Qualify and pass the Non-Pressure Boundary Welding Test.
- Use, read, and comprehend a tape measure to within 1/32”, is required.
- Basic nomenclature and practical use of hand tools is required.
- Reading and understanding production specifications, engineering drawings, and BOM’s, is required.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, good attendance, and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
- Availability to work a second shift schedule
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), is preferred.
We offer competitive compensation, based on experience. Starting wage is $20.35 per hour.
