Wholesale Marketing Manager
The Wholesale Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Wholesale and will be responsible for working cross-functionally to implement field marketing programs in support of house and partner brands across the wholesale market. This employee will collect and analyze information from consumers, clients, partners, and employees; digital platforms and data across a variety of product and service experiences; to generate insights and recommendations on how to enhance the experience for all stakeholders to ultimately drive brand awareness, product education, and revenue gains.
The Wholesale Marketing Manager will be the primary manager of the Brand Ambassadors and associated internal/external staff across relevant markets, with collaboration and support from the Director of Wholesale and Manager of Packaging and Design. The Wholesale Marketing Manager should possess strong knowledge of company functions, initiatives, and performance and demonstrate domain knowledge of and expertise in a range of disciplines, such as consumer insights, marketing research, event and experiential marketing, brand strategy, agile marketing, and service design strategy.
Successful candidates must wholly understand industry trends, customer segments, and product/category developments, to understand the customer experience ecosystem (digital and physical) and the role that customer experience plays in brand marketing strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Operations

  • Manage Brand Ambassadors throughout territories in MA
  • Oversee and administer brand assets, marketing efforts, merchandising, and toolkits
  • Project Management of events and competitions
  • Drive and track KPIs of the Brand Ambassador team
  • Develop ongoing training and align with brand partners’ respective Field Marketing opportunities
  • Work cross-functionally to create, size, and prioritize new ideas and identify opportunities to repair, enhance and innovate experiences
  • Execute and maintain our brands’ wholesale presence online (dispensary clients and wholesale-relevant online presence) by maintaining a library of digital assets including product descriptions and up-to-date menu photography
  • Represent the voice of the customer by aligning with cross-functional partners, ensuring they can leverage sentiment insights and action them
  • Deploy campaigns and promotions supported by comprehensive merchandising playbooks and tool kits for product launches and brand campaigns
  • Responsible for the physical execution of brand refreshes within our dispensary clients’ stores for new product launches and brand campaigns
  • Implement visual merchandising strategy and ensure backup plans are in place to replenish
  • Refine data aggregation systems and support data analysis
  • Generate, track, and manage product sell-through data as supplied by our clients
  • Complete store audits, market pricing audits, and market surveys
  • Ability to utilize and leverage brand insights to make thoughtful recommendations

People & Development

  • Ensure employees have accurate, up-to-date knowledge and materials as it relates to your position
  • Participate in the recruiting, training, development, and success of Brand Ambassadors
  • Collaborate with Wholesale to develop customer research, personas, and journey maps to highlight pain points and opportunities
  • Develop a product training guide in collaboration with Sales utilizing training tools, merchandising, and product awareness
  • Collaborate on the development and ongoing use of the Apex Trading sales and marketing CRM
  • Educate customers and store employees on products, services, features, pricing, and events
  • Build and maintain consumer and buyer relationships while maintaining compliance
  • Update job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, accomplishing relevant certifications, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of relevant market compliance regulations
  • Ensure marketing & sales activities are executed in full compliance of applicable rules and regulations

  • Manage a team throughout the state of Massachusetts and maintain compliance
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in fast-paced and time-sensitive environments
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with different personality types as well as other departments, vendors, and clients

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of training & experience in Marketing or a related field (e.g. brand strategy, consumer insights, customer experience, etc.)
  • 2 years’ experience in brand territory management (preferably in the cannabis industry)
  • 2 years’ experience in data management
  • 2 years’ experience working in a retail management / visual merchandising role preferred
  • 1+ year experience managing a team
  • CRM or data tracking experience
  • Expertise in cannabis-derived products a plus
  • Strong understanding of consumer insight identification, segmentation and target development
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Excellent mode of transportation, a valid driver's license, and clean driving record
