Job description

Workers needed in the Baltimore City & John Hopkins WIC Programs. Training will be provided to applicants selected for employment. Responsibilities include conducting interviews with WIC applicants to determine eligibility for the WIC Program, providing health and nutrition counseling, performing health screenings including finger sticks, and data entry. Employees in this position learn how to implement and evaluate all phases of nutrition education, breastfeeding and outreach in order to promote the program’s mission of improving the health status of pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children. Nutritionist trainees may provide some high risk nutrition counseling and nutrition education, issue breast feeding pumps, and make food package prescription decisions.

Bilingual in Spanish is desired but not required

Breastfeeding experience is desired but not required

Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Community Nutrition, Dietetics, Foods and Human Nutrition, Food Systems Management or Nutrition Education is required.

$20.20 - $22.48 per hour
