Reporting to the Director of Benefits, in collaboration with internal champions, communications, and external partners,the Work Life & Well-Being Manager will be strategic in the development and integration of programs and initiatives that benefit genuine work/life engagement and support the total well-being of our faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Annually update and develop 3–5-year Well-Being strategy based on the strategic initiatives of HR and the Institute.
  • Annually establish a calendar of Well-Being events and programs based on the strategy and time-appropriate needs.
  • Lead Well-Being Newsletter content development and production.
  • Develop, drive, communicate and manage all Work/Life and Well-Being initiatives and resources with the overall goal to enable accessibility, awareness, and engagement. Track program metrics and make recommendations for changes and new programs based on the data.
  • Manage dependent care strategy, design, implementation, and administration of programs. Collaborate with internal and external childcare committees.
  • Partner with institute-wide Communications teams and Inclusion Diversity and Equity team to support People & Culture goals related to staff members wellness and engagement.
  • Manage well-being budgets that include childcare and health plan wellness dollars with the support of the Director of Benefits. Propose changes as needed annually to the current programs and continuously monitor.
  • Collaborate with the Employee Assistance Program to leverage resources and ensure consistent access to services and programs.
  • Identify new programs specifically for dependent care and mental health for unmet needs; conduct benchmarking research, and request and review proposals from current vendors and potential vendors in response to needs.
  • Oversight of wellness vendor relationships.
  • Management of lactation rooms including collaborating with facilities to ensure room standards, build new rooms, maintain current rooms and equipment, and support for staff members using the rooms.
  • Perform consultations with faculty and staff on work/life issues.
  • Oversee family planning benefits such as fertility, adoption, and surrogacy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 6 years of experience of increasing responsibility in benefits and wellness required; 4 years with a master’s degree.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a variety of staff and faculty throughout the company including executives; Presentation skills required
    • Basic survey creation experience
    • Analytic and interpretation skills related to qualitative and non-complex quantitative data with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Fast learner who enjoys working with data and can translate to business context and workforce engagement
    • Sound judgment and problem-solving ability
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate and inclusive communicator
    • Takes initiative and works well independently and within a team and institute wide departments; uses a structured approach to work that allows prioritization in an environment that is often very busy
    • Strong leader who is highly organized, comfortable with detail and ability to follow-through to completion
    • Excellent computer skills related to the MS Office Suite
    • Ability to demonstrate objectivity and inclusively in decision-making and the ability to maintain confidentiality of all employee data and matters.
