Job Purpose / Job context
- The primary function of this position is to maneuver tractor trailers for the purpose of loading and unloading products while providing safety and security for the division yard and dock area. It is further required that above function be completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- This will be done by:
- Maintain and maneuver equipment on yard prior to dispatch.
- Ensure the safe movement of equipment around yard and warehouse.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours.
- Maintain equipment while on site.
- Drop and hook tractor to trailer.
- Inspects truck for defects, before and after trips and submits reports indicating truck condition.
- Coordinate equipment for maintenance and repair (must be able to perform light maintenance.
- Must be able to perform a DOT Pre-Trip inspection on Trailers
- Other duties as assigned.

- Equipment is maintained in good order.
- Equipment is tracked via the yard management system.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the proper execution of the logistics activities and the monitoring of the yard management on the site.
Core tasks
- Control of product flow for the yard management system.
- Implement remedial actions to maintain the flow of product.
- Autonomous action to prevent accidents.
- Act in line with agreed procedures for ensuring quality of product is maintained at all times in line with customer requirements (temperature, damages etc).
Additional tasks
- Assisting the operation as required by the site, including:
- Loading and Unloading Trucks & Containers.
- Assist colleagues in carrying out tasks.
- Helping maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
- Continually look to opportunities for improvements.
Quantitative information/ Scope of the job / Degree of supervision / Authorization levels
Performance Monitors
- Daily Feedback from shift Supervisor.
- Quarterly one to one meeting with Shift Supervisor (documented).
- Annual Performance Review.
Decision level
- The decision level of this function must be in line with the corporate governance and business unit agreements. This decision process at all times must be followed unless decided differently by board and shareholders.
