Role Description: MY Project USA is looking for a compassionate and experienced Youth Program Director to serve youth in our community through programs and services. The ideal candidate will have a particular interest in fostering the strengths of youth in underserved, immigrant, and refugee communities. Prior experience working with youth in different settings is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Be a reliable role model and mentor to youth in our programs.
- Motivate and guide young people towards living a holistic, healthy, successful life.
- Create and execute a youth leadership plan focused on leadership skills, civic engagement, and community services.
- Recruit, train, and engage volunteers who support daily tasks and special project efforts in MYPUSA youth programs.
- Recruit, train and manage youth members, including youth leaders, to ensure consistent quality programs and events.
- Develop annual youth events with the help and participation of youth leaders.
- Work with MYPUSA partners to create immersive experiences for youth.
- Work with MYPUSA partners and other departments to provide wrap-around services to empower youth.
- Bring the voice of people accessing services into the day-to-day operations of the MYPUSA program. Work with development and marketing staff to assure these voices are accurately represented in MYPUSA media stories and fundraising solicitations.
- Help prepare an annual program budget and manage programs within that budget.
- Accompany youth to community events, services, and classes offered by partner organizations.
- Create an open space where dialogue is easily created between youth.
- Have weekly group sessions with youth to talk about ideas for programs, projects, and services.
- Arrange for food for youth events within the budget
- Make social media posts of youth activities
- Record the progress of youth development programs
- Keep a clear fiscal report of the program
- Write a periodic report of achievements and challenges
Education & Prior Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or two years of experience in a competitive, similar job environment is required.
- Experience working with refugee, immigrant, and/or underserved communities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
