• Must have Trailer Mechanic Experience - Semi tractor trailer

Trailer Mechanic – Diagnose mechanical failures and repairs for refrigeration units according to manuals, factory specifications. Be knowledgeable of refrigeration unit components, performance, and coordinate with technicians from manufacturer to reduce/eliminate unit down time. Ensure trailers are safe for loading/unloading of cargo, free of leaks and will transport cargo in a safe manner without damage. In addition to the mechanical responsibilities, also responsible for keeping the facilities clean, organized and must maintain a safe work environment as well as perform security duties by reporting unauthorized people on the property and/or the shop area. Must also follow and adhere to all regulatory bodies.pm

This position is 2nd shift hours are from 3pm-11:30pm

Duties:

· Conduct scheduled inspections and checks of all transport trailer vehicles.

· Regular servicing and maintenance of all vehicles.

· Maintaining a service record of all vehicles.

· Interacting with the vehicle drivers to know about the functionality and issues of the vehicle.

· Replacing parts and conducting repairs and tire changes for the vehicles.

· Placing orders for spare parts and filing necessary purchase order documentation for the same.

· Appropriately using as well as handling testing tools and repair equipment.

· Test driving vehicles to ensure that they are functioning appropriately.

· Complying with all set industry safety norms and other quality measures while conducting work processes.

· Effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.

· Sound understanding of changing engine oils and other trailer vehicle overhauling procedures.

Job purpose: To maintain company owned trailers in accordance with manufacturer and company standards to exceed industry safety standards. Ensure that trailer and refrigeration unit down time is below industries averages and that employee and shop safety is their number one focus.
