Job Description:
Position Overview: The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) provides the occupational therapy program with management and administration of the fieldwork program. As a full-time faculty member, the AFWC procures fieldwork sites, provides development to fieldwork educators, and monitors student fieldwork progress. The AFWC ensures the OTD program's compliance with ACOTE fieldwork requirements. The AFWC works closely with KGI's Office of Experiential Education and directly reports to the OTD Program Director.

Located in beautiful Claremont, California, Keck Graduate Institute is a member of the prestigious Claremont Colleges, a consortium of five undergraduate liberal arts colleges, two graduate institutions, and The Claremont Colleges Services, which provide shared institutional support services. Education and Experience:
The successful candidate will possess a Doctoral degree from a United States Department of Education recognized accredited program and be a registered and licensed occupational therapist in the state of California, with at least three years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities : Individuals must possess knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential function of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions may be performed, with or without, reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Ensure compliance with ACOTE fieldwork requirements.

Procure and develop fieldwork education sites that fit with the scope and sequence of didactic courses and curriculum design.

Provide development to fieldwork educators to support student learning experiences.

Place students in fieldwork sites.

Support students while on fieldwork.

Oversee administration of fieldwork requirements of affiliation agreements, student health records, site-specific requirements, and utilization of healthcare education management system.

Manage fieldwork courses.

Engage in service activities for the Institute.

Participate in scholarly activities of research and program development in collaboration with OTD faculty.

Demonstrate professional skills and interactions that support the mission and vision of the OTD program.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record (as maintained by the DMV) that is acceptable to the Institute's insurance carrier.

Ability to lift 30 pounds/participate in the light set-up for recruitment and on-campus events.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Ability to maintain good concentration level while dealing with interruptions; attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy; capable of giving, receiving, and analyzing information, formulating work plans, and articulating goals and action plans. Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time. Standing for extended periods of time. Reaching and extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction. Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than the whole hand(s), or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard. Communication skills using the spoken word. Ability to see within normal parameters. Ability to hear within normal parameters. Ability to bend and stoop, for example, to file. Ability to move about. Ability to lift and carry short distances up to 20 lbs., for example to lift or move office supplies, files, books and packages.

Ability to drive locally. Occasionally, will be required to stand for prolonged periods of time at activities/events on and off-campus.
