Job Description Summary:
Tenure track appointments are full-time with an initial probationary period of seven years. Criteria for promotion includes significant achievements in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. The award of tenure is based on potential for sustained contributions, performing beyond expected duties, and demonstrating leadership and innovation in activities that enhance the reputation of the University.
The Clinical Scholar Track is for full-time faculty members who are heavily involved in clinical service, education, and related scholarship. This track has two career paths: Clinician-Educator concentrating on teaching and Clinician-Investigator for concentrating on research/scholarship. Significant contributions in professional and academic service are required for both paths.

Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
Candidates should be M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or D.O., be board certified/eligible in Anatomic/Clinical Pathology with fellowship training or practice experience in Hematopathology.
Board certified or eligible in Anatomic/Clinical Pathology.
Eligibility for unrestricted licensure for the practice of medicine in Kansas is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
The successful candidate should possess strong diagnostic skills with subspecialty training or experience in Hematopathology. In addition to participating in diagnostic sign out of 1 or 2 subspecialty areas, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in the general surgical pathology frozen section services, contribute to medical student, resident and fellow training, and develop research projects reflective of his/her own interests.
Fellowship training in Hematopathology preferred.

Job Duties Outlined:
Sign-out responsibilities in hematopathology, as well as hemoglobin electrophoresis, platelet aggregation studies, and other hematology and coagulation testing.
Interpretation of tests results and consultation with health care providers relevant to the diagnosis of hematologic disorders, genetic diseases and cancer
Contribute to medical student, resident, and fellow training
Develop research projects reflective of candidate's own interests.
