The Job

The Property Accountant is responsible for a range of general accounting duties, financial analysis and projects.

Duties include:

  • Perform daily general ledger accounting and reporting activities
  • Oversee processing of accounts payable and respond to vendor inquiries
  • Process miscellaneous cash receipts for managed properties
  • Prepare month-end closing journal entries and maintain general ledger reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly bank reconciliations for managed properties
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly hotel occupancy, sales and use tax returns
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for certain managed properties and compile supporting reports on payroll metrics
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements and required tax reporting
  • Facilitate collection of data requests for annual tax return
  • Facilitate preparation of audit workpapers
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as they arise

Required Skills & Experience

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or Business required
  • 1 or more years of general accounting experience preferred
  • Ability to work concurrently with multiple accounting information systems.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and good record keeping skills is required
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Takes initiative and seeks additional training or direction as needed
