MCR Hotels is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our team at The American Airlines Training & Conference Center in Fort Worth, Texas, just 10 minutes south of DFW Airport.
Job Title: Accounting Assistant- This position is responsible for being an integral team member of the Accounting Team.
Job Summary: To support the activities of the Accounting and Conference Planning Teams by providing administrative support and performing basic accounting duties.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Greet and assist guests to the Accounting/Conference Services Departments and the property.
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the layout of the hotel and conference center along with knowledge of the services offered and operating hours of the different outlets in the hotel.
- Assist in handling customer calls while Conference Planning Managers are out of the office.
- Maintain office area, inventory and order supplies required for the Hotel operation including office equipment, i.e. printer, copier, fax machine.
- Assist with the administrative duties as required by management.
- Assist Production Learning Hub office with the preparation, ordering of learning materials.
- Maintain shipping/receiving/distribution for internal mail.
- Process Meeting Room Key Requests
- Produce door and Directional Signage.
- Act as petty cash custodian.
- Maintain all state and local permits to ensure they are up to date.
- Maintain critical date list and contact vendors for current documents.
- Process actualized regional trainees in Delphi weekly and input data in excel.
- Audit banquet checks and input data on excel tracking file on a weekly basis.
- Complete office supply orders and submit requisitions to A/P - Coupa.
- Support temp labor vendors with collecting timesheets for invoicing.
- Support managers with reconciling temp labor invoices to department timesheets before approving for payment.
- Maintain temp labor tracking file for month end account reconciliations.
- Support month-end close tasks as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum formal education of a high school diploma is required.
- Two years of job-related experience preferably within the hospitality industry.

- Demonstrated professional and pleasant phone manner.
- Comfortable interfacing with a diverse group of individuals.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize, identify problems, and seek solutions as well as follow up and follow through with a variety of tasks.
- Basic knowledge of/experience with sales marketing departments helpful.
- Excellent communications skill (oral & written) in English.
- Computer literate. Prefer strong Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Warm, personable and energetic demeanor.
- Honest, trustworthy, discreet and careful with confidential information.
- Highly proactive and willing to take initiative.
- Ability to follow up and follow through with a variety of tasks.
- Handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 7 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. This includes traveling to and from meetings. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Some portions of daily assignments involve ergonomic risk, such as repetitive tasks, hands exertion, vibration, cold temperatures, poor body mechanics, restrictive work stations or awkward postures.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
- Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, and other office equipment as needed.
