SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Financial Reporting and Analysis, and according to established Firm policies and procedures, the Accounting Systems Coordinator will work in tandem with the Accounting Systems Administrator. The responsibilities include providing technical, analytical and upgrade support in maintaining the firm’s financial systems: time & billing, A/R, G/L, conflict of interest, records management systems, collections, and the firm’s data warehouse.
This position can be located in any of our 22 nationwide office locations
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides end-user application support to both accounting users and other users within the firm and acts as liaison between the accounting department and the information technology department regarding accounting system projects.
2. Assists Accounting Systems Administrator with setting up and maintaining accounting systems applications. This includes setting up parameters and controls, including accounting system timekeeper and user logons, user security roles, the creation of firm specific custom fields and tables; maintenance of billing proforma and invoice templates, and check templates, and setup of new cost codes and masking.
3. Assist with projects regarding accounting/financial systems such as upgrades and testing of new enhancements
4. Add and maintain 3E system defaults, control codes, UDFs and validation lists as needed, new practice codes, department codes, billing task code lists, area of law codes, cost codes, location codes – share this responsibility with Senior Accounting Systems Analyst
5. Provide backup to Accounting System Analyst for time loads, troubleshooting issues in accounting system, and support to users
6.Assists in maintaining accounting systems’ data integrity and reconciling data across accounting applications
7. Assists in month end balancing process
8. Assists in processing daily, weekly, quarterly, and yearly reports including the electronic distribution of reports.
9. Assumes responsibility for the timeliness and efficiency of assigned financial reporting, including standard and ad hoc reports.
10. Looks for opportunities and implements process improvements within the accounting software.
11. Assists in the development and maintaining documents on the accounting department section of the Firm's Intranet.
12. Research data integrity issues or issues arising from input errors
13. Uses and is familiar with all financial computer systems, manuals and procedures, ensures that procedural manuals and instructions are updated as needed.14. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Information Systems or Computer Science.
2. Experience with accessing and processing data using SQL and/or similar data mining tools.
3. Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Crystal Reports, SSRS, SSMS
4. An aptitude for the use of database applications, along with strong organizational and analytical skills.
5. An understanding of relational databases concepts including basic query and software development knowledge.
6. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
7. Familiarity with financial systems and general accounting principles.
8. Analytical skills necessary in order to conduct complex and detailed analysis on various accounting problems.
9. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
10. Strong understanding of problem management, change management and department best practices.
11. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to maintain effective relationships with partners, attorneys, clients and staff in person, by e-mail and telephone.
12. Patience and ability to help users gain a better understanding of the applications, tools, resources and information available.
13. Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information.
14. Ability to demonstrate impeccable integrity in personal and fiduciary matters.
