Title: Accounting Clerk
Purpose: Responsible for performing general accounting duties such as: assisting
with the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable ledgers, data entry,
administrative duties and other clerical duties.

Position Status: Full Time/Non-Exempt Status
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma required. Postsecondary degree or certificate from an accredited
university preferred. 2. 5-7 years bookkeeping, accounting data entry or similar experience, preferably with fund accounting experience.
3. Strong working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft office products.
4. Experience with fund-based accounting programs such as Blackbaud Financial Edge or
Abila MIP preferred.
5. Applicant will be subject to a fingerprint-based national and state criminal history check
as required by the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA), Office of
Early Childhood and Out of School Learning (OECOSL).
Job Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the input of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable invoices for program
and operational funds, checking for both proper approval and correct documentation.
2. Oversee the input of ACH funds paid and received into Accounts Payable and Accounts
Receivable ledgers.
3. Code invoices according to association policies and procedures.
4. Matching internal Check Requests to invoices while confirming the amount billed is the
same as on the Check Request. Make sure all supporting items have been received.
5. Processing invoices for payment in the Accounts Payable department in timely manner
according to invoice terms and association payment policies.
6. Maintain “Accounts Payable mailbox and distribute invoices to the correct
department internally.
7. Reconcile vendor statements. Investigate discrepancies as needed.
8. Communications with vendors regarding issues with payment, invoices, etc.
9. Maintain W-9 files in order to properly input into Accounts Payable system.
10. Process remote deposits of checks and enter into accounting software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
