Job description
General Responsibilities
This position is responsible for processing Accounts Payable, data entry and performing duties related to Accounts Payable but also include assisting the Financial Controller with accounting functions.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
· Manage the Accounts Payable email inbox, including monitoring and tracking the status of approvals
· Preparing the weekly check run
· Protect the organization by keeping all financial information confidential
· Maintain vendor & subcontractor files according to department requirements.
· Compile & code vendor invoicing to ensure accurate information and authorizations.
· Manage and analyze large amounts of data for accuracy
· Complete detailed reconciliations – GL accounts, bank, and credit card statements
· Performed accounting related activities and complete accurately special projects assigned by the Controller
· Produce yearly 1099’s at year-end, compile reports for Controller
· Maintain depreciation schedules of new purchases and asset disposals
· Proactively participates in month-end close activities
· Works under the direction of the Financial Controller
Required Qualifications
. General Ledger Accounting and GAAP knowledge
. A driven, continuous improvement and control mindset with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and collaboration
. Well organized, detail oriented and have an analytical mindset with the ability to learn and adapt to changes.
. Strong analytical and advanced Excel spreadsheet skills
. Highest attention to detail and accuracy
. Solid knowledge of accounting practices to perform complex audits.
. Professional, proactive & positive attitude
. Excellent written, verbal, and social communication skills desired
. Ability to overcome objections and frustrations and find ways to be successful in a difficult situation.
. QuickBooks experience

- Associate’s degree in a related field
Experience:
- At least one (1) year of experience in an accounting/AP department setting.
