Job Title: Accounting Coordinator

Reports to: Executive Director

Level: Experienced

Mission:

The Next Door provides a continuum of evidence-based substance abuse and mental health services for women in an environment of faith and healing to restore hope and a lifetime of recovery.

Summary:

This position, working directly for the Executive Director is responsible for ensuring outsourced accounting team and outsourced billing department have information needed and are completing tasks in a timely manner well as other clerical functions to support Executive Director.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties include the following:

· Work with outsourced billing department to increase cashflow and reduce bad debt expense.

· Work with outsourced controller to ensure accounting books/records are timely and accurate

· Process billing for all Grant contracts

· Prepares bank deposits daily and records in QuickBooks.

· Pay invoices via Bill.com, approximately 25 checks per week.

· Record month end accruals into accounting system.

· Resolves vendor account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments.

· Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.

· Maintains donor confidentiality.

· Complete allocations of large invoices to various departments

· Provide necessary documentation for annual Financial Audit and 401k Audit

· Assist the Executive Director with clerical functions.

· Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience:

· Business or Accounting degree preferred

· Minimum of 2-3 years proven work experience in accounting required

Additional Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:

· Organization skills

· Intermediate Excel skills

· Data entry skills

· General math skills

· Financial software knowledge

· Ability to analyze and process information

· Attention to detail

· Verbal/written communication Skills
