Accounting Manager
Our team in Dallas currently has an opening for a Accounting Manager.
YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
**
*The Accounting Manager* will have an active role in managing month-end close, financial reporting, and all accounting entries for the Brenntag Southwest Regional Operating Company.
This is your opportunity to join a large, successful, multi-national organization. This position will offer exposure to the senior management team and the opportunity for advancement to the Accounting Director role within approximately 1-2 years. We are looking for someone who is energetic, has an exceptional attention for detail, and will work closely with accounting management to achieve company goals.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks
- Ensure all monthly journal entries are recorded for non-system generated activity.
- Preform weekly cash forecasting, positive pay functions and bank reconciliations.
- Responsible for intercompany activity, analysis, and reconciliation.
- Ensure all working capital ratios are properly calculated, supported, and analyzed.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Ensure account reconciliations are performed and updated in Blackline.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Analyze financial statements.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting.

- Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables.
- Working knowledge in one or more of the following systems required: Spreadsheet Server, SmartView within Excel, or Hyperion Financial Management.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems; upload responsibilities to Global SAP.
- We will train the incumbent as needed in the ERP system used, but a strong background in software and comprehension of analytical database systems and reporting is required for the role.
Experience, Education and/or Training
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting Required.
- CPA highly preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in accounting and financial planning, including 3 years managing a finance or accounting team.
- Experience in a multi-site, distribution environment is a plus.
- Experience in a publicly traded multinational corporation is desirable.
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) a plus.
- Depending on the candidate’s location, business travel may be required for initial training; up to 50% of the time during the onboarding period.
- Employment is contingent upon completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screening.
