Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and capable Accounting Manager. This position will have oversight and execution of financial activities in a physician private practice environment based in our Carmel, Indiana office; including cash, expense and compensation forecasting, financial analysis, accounting, physician compensation calculation, Foundation fund activity and long-range forecasting to ensure the organization's financial obligations are met. Develops financial policies and oversees their implementation. Position works closely with both administrative and physician leadership providing financial and business intelligence data for GCBS.

Job Duties


  • Develop and monitor annual forecasts and performance
  • Prepare physician compensation forecasts quarterly
  • Oversee and distribute financial statements, statistical/financial reports
  • Oversee payroll and benefit plan administration including staff
  • Serve as liaison with outside accounting/tax/bank/other financial advisors
  • Oversee accounts payable and general accounting including staff
  • Create/Analyze/Assist in strategic business planning
  • Perform month end activities/entries/allocations/fixed assets tracking
  • Oversee financing activities/cash management
  • Oversee closely held LLC and 501c3 activities and reporting
  • Oversee and maintain financial information systems/internal controls

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required


  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Must possess professional competence in oral and written communications and problem-solving
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and coordinate the completion of multiple projects with a high degree of accuracy and in a timely manner
  • Exceptional spreadsheet and database skills and knowledge required
  • Preferred experience with Sage 300, ADP, Microsoft products, BI
  • Broad knowledge of the health care industry with a specific emphasis on physician practices, managed care and hospitals
  • Demonstrated technical skills in quantitative analysis and finance
  • Personal characteristics: someone who is able to establish rapport at all organizational levels, exhibit confidence, persuade effectively, and produce results. An individual with outstanding intellect, inquiring mind, creativity, a highly developed work ethic, and integrity.

Educational and Experience Required


  • BS or BA required, preferably in accounting, finance, healthcare administration or business.
  • At least five years of work experience in any of the following, including supervision, required: financial and/or fund accounting, financial analysis, forecasting/budgeting.
