GoldenWolf is seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented accounting specialist to support a fast paced finance department.

The Accounting Specialist performs clerical, bookkeeping, and accounting assignments and assists in preparation of accounting statements and financial reports. Performs assigned duties within all aspects of accounting and related functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work collaboratively within the organization to support the interests and needs of our vendors, clients and internal departments including HR and Operations.
  • Post journal entries to general ledger.
  • Responsible for monthly close process and preparation of internal and external reports, dashboards and forecasts.
  • Generates reports, reconciliations, and summary sheets to be used inside and outside the organization.
  • Process, reconciliation and inquiries related to the organization’s payroll, vacation accrual, tax and benefit reconciliation.
  • Assists with verification and reconciliation of expense reports and related reconciliations.
  • Assists with creation of invoices according to company practices in organization’s accounting system; coordinates with other staff to ensure accuracy and contract compliance.
  • Reconcile revenue accounts each month.
  • Organizes, copies, finance files and retrieves materials as needed
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
  • Must be willing to learn and adapt to specifics of the Government Contracting industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting software – QuickBooks and Unanet, a plus.
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks – especially in a mostly remote setting.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and interact professionally with others.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree in related field preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to five years of related experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Applicants preferred to reside in the state of Maryland.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to work remotely and at the corporate office as required.
  • May be required to travel less than 10%.

Work Environment: The work environment is typical of those employees who perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job. Employee may be required to travel. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

SALARY RANGE: $55,000.00-$65,000.00/annually. Compensation will be based upon experience and skill level.

JOB TYPE: Full-Time (40 hours a week)
