The Role:
We are searching for an experienced accountant with supervisory experience to join our fast-paced and high-growth local company. They will oversee and review the work of a Staff Accountant with whom they will partner to perform the general day-to-day, month-end, and year-end accounting functions for a portion of our over 60 (and growing!) restaurant locations.
Job Duties:
Perform general accounting functions including journal entries, month-end closing procedures and balance sheet reconciliations.- Review general ledger, balance sheet and income statement schedules and required journal entries prepared by accounting staff for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure the timely completion of period end duties by the accounting staff.
- Participate in monthly financial reviews – identifying variances, implementing corrective actions.
- Meet accounting operational standards by implementing productivity, resolving problems and identifying improvements
- Provide support during audits.
- Maintains financial security by adhering to financial controls
- Coach and train and review the work of a junior accountant
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field is preferred- 3-5 years experience as a senior accountant
- 1 year supervisory experience preferred
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Motivated self-starter
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and succinctly
- Key characteristics: continuous improvement, excellent time management skills, sense of urgency, detail oriented, ability to delegate
- Restaurant/ Hospitality experience a plus
