Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Corporate Accounting for the Finance Department, the incumbent’s primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation, account codes, calculations, invoice amount and approval.
  • Check transactions for compliance and allowability per Federal regulations, Company Policy, and Contract Terms.
  • Record all payment requests including Vendor Invoices, Expense Reports, Travel Advances, and AP Corrections in the accounting system and monitor/maintain the Open AP Report.
  • Prepare the Weekly “Check” Run including ACH/EFT’s.
  • Administer Corporate Credit Card Program.
  • Administer SAP Concur Travel Expense System.
  • Follow-Up with Vendors and URC Staff as necessary.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries.
  • Maintain all paid and unpaid invoices and statements, including filing and photocopying.
  • Maintain all accounts payable information, reports, spread sheets and corporate accounts payable files.
  • Assist with monthly journal entries and general ledger closing.
  • Provide regular trainings on Accounts Payable processes including on using SAP Concur.
  • Prepare annual 1099s.
  • Prepare analysis of accounts, account reconciliations and audit schedules, as required.
  • Provide backup support for purchasing and payroll, as needed.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Business Development
  • Serve as on proposal teams as appropriate and assigned. Roles may include pricer, budget etc..
  • [Seek opportunities to contribute to URD’s business development by participating in professional networks, building relationships with donors and key stakeholders, and identifying and sharing best practices.
Qualifications:
Required Experience and Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelors’ degree in relevant field required. Five or more years of relevant experience, as described below, may substitute for college degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, financial data management, or related responsibilities, preferably in a US government contracting environment; USAID contracting experience highly preferred
  • Two years of related experience. Experience must include MS Excel and demonstrated understanding of general ledger accounts and how they relate to invoices.
  • Experience using DELTEK CostPoint accounting software preferred.
  • Experience using SAP Concur preferred

  • This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
  • This position may require travel to domestic and international locations with varying distances, duration, and modes of transport.
