Position

SAS has an opening in the Accounting Department for an Accounts Payable Clerk who will report to the Accounts Payable Manager.


Job Responsibilities

  • Plays a key role in the daily operation of the Accounts Payable department, including data entry and report generation via ERP and excel
  • Processes transactions for Accounts Payable by matching purchase order to invoices
  • Follows accounting policies and procedures and produces error-free work
  • Maintains Accounts Payable filing system
  • Manages Accounts Payable email inbox; distributes and prints invoices and statements
  • Receives and reconciles vendor statements
  • Updates Accounts Payable vendor master file
  • Identifies errors or discrepancies and resolves before processing
  • Works effectively with team members by practicing punctuality, meets deadlines, collaborative problem solving, and honest communication
  • Meet all required standards of confidentiality
  • Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly manner
  • Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department
  • Perform routine office tasks directed by Accounts Payable Supervisor
  • Perform special projects as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Some college course work in Accounting is preferred, but equivalent accounting work experience will be acceptable.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent verbal skills with the ability to accurately explain your work
  • Excellent written communication skills with ability to present data
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to engage with management to exchange information influence and persuade.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • The ability to work in a team environment and within cross-functional team(s) in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • The ability to maintain confidential information and ability to work with deadlines.
  • Be a flexible, strategic team player with infallible integrity and ethical standards.
  • Be someone who strives for high performance and uses technical skills effectively with a demonstrated emphasis to detail and accuracy.
  • Possess the ability to multi-task and work in an organized, detailed manner under limited time frames & tight deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft D365/ERP as an ERP

Physical Requirements

  • Physical labor is often necessary for 8 hours or more per day with breaks approximately every two hours including sitting, standing and walking.
  • Ability to input data (typing) into a computer for long periods.
