A client of Insight Global is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team in Smyrna, Georgia. This is a 6 month contract-to-hire role offering a pay rate of $22 - $25 per hour. This is a hybrid role, requiring you to be in-office for 3 days per week and the flexibility to work remotely for the remaining 2 days per week. However, you will be required to be in office five days per week for the first two-three weeks of training. The daily responsiblities for this role include the following:

• Maintain meticulous records of outstanding payables including but not limited to invoices, check requests, expense reports, debit memos, and credit memos
• 3-Way match related functions such as costing and debit memo creation
• Ensure the accuracy of the financial documents for payment
• Protect business against unintentional overpayments and fraudulent requests
• Perform effective communication with all internal employees and external vendors, in a timely manner
• Audit Accounts Payable batches to confirm accuracy of data including but not limited to the vendor, invoice number, date, totals, terms, and General Ledger coding
• Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices, or authorized approval signatures
• Analyze and store reconciled vendor account statements on a monthly or quarterly basis, to ensure payment accuracy
• Perform analysis on inventory invoices using three-way match research - identify, resolve, or escalate complex exceptions
• Provide ad-hoc reporting as necessary
• Provide other clerical support necessary to pay the obligations of the organization
• Assist in the monthly close as necessary

The requirements for this role include the following:

• 2+ years of full cycle Accounts Payable experience
• 3-way matching experience
• Analytical mindset – enjoys research!
• Intermediate Excel skills (vlookups and pivot tables)

The traits that are considered plusses include the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• PeopleSoft experience
