Position Summary
The Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist performs activities with a focus on accurate and comprehensive medical billing. The specialist is responsible for efficient claims billing while ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations and established company policies and compliance programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for daily billing activities including: commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and private pay. Ensure all 3rd party billing is submitted to appropriate outsources partner
• Review rejected claims, perform corrections activities and ensure resubmission as appropriate
• Process the billing and payment for all Veteran Affairs purchase orders and provide required documentation to the purchasing agent within the contracted timeframe
• Identify trends and provide feedback regarding billing issues
• Review all drop ship tickets for accuracy and timeliness
• Willing to support all members of the team
• Comply with all HIPAA and privacy regulations
• Adhere to laws and best practices in regards to dealing with patients and patient data
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Medical account payment experience, minimum 2 years required
• Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures, minimum 2 years required in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Understanding of Medicare and insurance carrier plan configurations in respect to calculations of coinsurance, deductibles and percentages
• Must have good computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office, required
• Experience with 10-key calculator
• Able to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
• Able to work effectively with a wide range of people
• Time management skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Must be able to work onsite at our corporate headquarters in Maryland Heights, MO
• Must be able to work in an office setting, use a computer, keyboard and mouse for the majority of the shift and be able to communicate on the telephone
• Must be able to work the scheduled 8 hour shift Monday-Friday
• Work from home is available at supervisors discretion and as business needs allow, in accordance with the BioTAB Work From Home Policy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
