Description

We are hiring an Activities Specialist at our Life Adjustment Program! This position is responsible for assisting with resident engagement opportunities and activities for participants in Residential and Non-Residential program within Hilltop’s Brain Injury Services. This position assists the Resident Engagement Supervisor in organizing, promoting, and facilitating comprehensive activities and services that promote healthy, activity-enriched lifestyles for participants utilizing these seven dimensions of wellness: social, intellectual, physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental, and vocational.

This position has a full-time schedule of Sunday-Thursday from 12 pm - 8:30 pm.

This position has a starting wage range of $16.50-17.32 per hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist participants with activities of daily living to include toileting, walking, meal support, and transferring based on the individual ability.

2. Organizing and facilitating activities both on and off the Bacon campus for Residential and Non-Residential program participants.

3. Assisting residents in preparing for recreational outings, loading and unloading residents for transportation to and from outings, interacting with clients during activities, etc.; represent Hilltop's Brain Injury Services with professionalism during outings with residents.

4. Provide behavior management techniques appropriate to brain injuries to diffuse anger or keep participants safe and reassured (i.e., distraction, redirection, validation).

5. Observe and report health or behavior concerns/changes to Manager or Supervisor and nurse.

6. Assisting staff with planning and facilitating recreational activities and fitness exercises, including preparing meals for recreational outings. Assisting clients on overnight activities. Transport residents to various planned outings.

7. Maintaining professional boundaries with all clients enrolled in any Hilltop program or residing at any of Hilltop's facilities, all the while maintaining dignity, confidentiality, privacy, and rights of every client.

8. Issuing medications as required and maintaining records in accordance with specified procedures.

9. Completing required documentation promptly, accurately, and legibly.

10. Maintaining equipment and supplies and reporting damaged equipment to appropriate personnel.

11. Perform housekeeping duties to include but not limited to vacuuming, mopping, dusting, trash removal, stocking supplies, disinfecting, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning kitchen, cleaning and tidying all areas of the facility.

12. Actively participating as a member of the Resident Engagement Department, providing input, attending meetings, evaluating, etc.
