Adjunct Faculty are hired each term on an as-needed basis for the National Security Agency Grant train participants, 75% of whom are first responders (Law enforcement, Fire Fighters, EMT) and military (veterans, active, and reserve).
Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the NSA Grant Directors and Principal Investigators.
Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
Optimizes course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction and meet faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction. Conducts all activities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and views.
NSA Grant Cyber Security Workforce Certification (CWCT) Standard:
A qualified faculty member in Cyber Security Workforce Certification (CWCT) meets the standard through one of four routes:
1) Possesses an earned master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution
in information assurance or related field as appropriate to the program; or
2) Possesses an earned related or out-of accredited institution, with documented 18 semester hours or equivalent of courses beyond the introductory
principle(s) level in information assurance or related field as appropriate to the program; or
3) Possesses an earned related or out-of- accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following:
a) Professional certification (national, regional or state)
b) Two years of in-field professional employment
c) Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award
d) Documentation of research and publication in the field
e) Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor degree,
equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter vendor, or military; or
4) Posses an earned bachelor degree from a regionally accredited institution in
information assurance or related field as appropriate to the program, with documentation in two or more of the following:
a) Professional certification (national, regional or state) in the field
b) Two years of in-field professional employment
c) Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award
d) Documentation of research and publication in the field
e) Documented relevant additionally coursework beyond the bachelor's degree equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter
coursework, CEU's vendor, or military.
CWCT 100 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching CWCT100 meets the CWCT standard and
holds a valid, non-expired CompTIA A+ certification or higher certification or
two years of in field professional employment or Cisco IT Essentials Instructor
Training certification.
CWCT 105 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching CWCT 105 meets the CWCT standard and holds
a valid, non-expired CompTIA Security+ certification or security certification listed
on the current Department of Defense 8570 Information Assurance Workforce
Improvement Program list or two years of in-field professional employment
CWCT 115 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching CWCT 115 meets the CWCT standard and
current Cisco Academy CyberOps Instructor requirements with the appropriate Cisco
course qualifications.
CWCT 116 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching CWCT 116 meets the CWCT standard and holds
a valid, non-expired CompTIA Linux+ certification or higher level Linux certification;
or two years of documented server administration professional employment.
CWCT 140 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching CWCT 140 meets the CWCT standard and a
current non-expired Python Certified Associate Programmer certification or two or
more years of document professional experience with Python.
CWCT 225 Course Standard:

A qualified faculty member teaching CWCT 225 meets the CWCT program
standard and holds a valid, non-expired EC Councils Certified Ethical Hacker
certification.
CWCT 230, CWCT 245, and CWCT 250 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching CWCT 230, CWCT 245, or CWCT 250 meets
the CWCT standard and successfully completed the CWCT grant consortium
instructor training for the respective course.
CWCT 235 and CWCT 240 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching CWCT 235 or CWCT 240 meets the CWCT
program standard and holds a valid, non-expired AccessData Certified Examiner
certification, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, GIAC Security
Essentials Certification, or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner.
CWCT 255 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching CWCT 255 meets the CWCT program
standard and holds a valid, non-expired EC Councils Certified Hacking Forensics
Investigator certification.

$9,200 Per Course for Each Assignment
