Job description
- Evaluating the creditworthiness of potential customers
- Creating credit models for risk assessments
- Negotiating and approving credit terms for new clients
- Reviewing and updating the company’s credit policy
- Ensuring procedures comply with regulations and internal policies
- Proactively monitors and evaluates risk on an ongoing basis, anticipating and mitigating potential risks and escalating red flags to key stakeholders
- Managing daily credit department activities, supervising staff, and allocating assignments
- Maintaining an effective partnership with customers, Sales, Operations and Finance departments
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related discipline
- 7+ years’ of experience in credit management. Prior experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, strongly preferred
- Extensive experience with credit analysis and proficiency with accounting software
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze problems and strategize solutions
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills; builds positive working relationships with staff; can effectively lead, coach/mentor junior staff members
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and, at times, stressful environment with high-pressure situations that require clear and sound decisions/actions
- High level of integrity and discretion to handle confidential information
