The Content Strategist will own the crafting and execution of the vision for educator content in the i-Ready platform experiences. They will work closely with the editorial, UX, and product management teams to create a shared vision for how content is used and thus should be represented in the experience. The Content Strategist will then become the spokesperson for the content to realize that vision. They will make content easier to organize into navigation, optimized for search (internal and external), delivered in personalized ways, across different channels and user journey stages. They will perform content audits or gap analyses to ensure the uniformity of content and its alignment with business goals across i-Ready products. They will know i-Ready content, spot patterns and trends in the content data and draw conclusions.
The impact you’ll have:
Collaborate with editorial, UX, and product management teams to ensure a cohesive content strategy
Setting editorial strategy so content is consistent, compelling, and discoverable across all delivery streams
Advocate for content strategy, taxonomies, and metadata across the organization by outlining and demonstrating its many benefits.
Responsible for content audit, content inventory, relationships, and editorial guidelines
Define taxonomy and metadata recommendations, site maps, content models, workflow recommendations to drive data insights
Define and manage plans for setting up and managing taxonomies as well as aligning content to the taxonomies
Define metadata and the approach for tagging content across all areas.
Effectively present content plans, ideas, and designs to technical and non-technical stakeholders for feedback
Partner with platform agile teams to deliver enriched content for product releases
Stay abreast of trends, key issues, competitors, and partner offerings
Understand the platform and product features and the roadmap to define the underlying content structures and hierarchies, organization, metadata needs, as well as relationships/alignments.
What we’re looking for:
Experience with content management systems, preferably in Media or Edtech industry.
Experience with Dublin Core, LTI standards
Experience developing semantic models
Minimum of two years’ experience on search engine optimization
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in content strategy and metadata management
Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights
Experienced in elaboration, defining workflows and process diagramming
Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across stakeholders both technical and non-technical
Terrific organizational, problem-solving and time management skills
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced software development environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of EdTech industry is a plus
