Summary

Responsible for administrative support to the SONHS Exercise Science undergraduate and graduate programs to ensure programmatic and accreditation standards. Responsible for timely submission of materials to administration, faculty, and students; coordination of meetings both internal and external; coordination of events; and representation of the SONHS and University to all communities of interest.

As primary responsibility, provides administrative support to the Program Coordinator of Undergraduate and Graduate Exercise Science, Sports Fitness Administration, and PE.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Acts as the first line of communication for undergraduate and graduate Exercise Science (EXSC), Sports and Fitness Administration (SAFA) and PE students
  • Monitors progression and enrollment status of all EXSC, SAFA, PE and Masters of Exercise Science (MSES) students through Student Tracker
  • Prepares and monitors student program plans and coordinates with Records & Registration to ensure current course information within student academic planning
  • Manages SLATE for MSES Student Management Committee
  • Coordinates admission process, Canvas access and Tuition Discounts for all MSES students
  • Submits text book requisitions and desk copy requests.
  • Manages Modern Campus updates for SONHS EXSC/SAFA/PE and MSES web pages.
  • Provides administrative support to the Health Sciences Student Management and Curriculum Committees.
  • Coordinates Canvas Statistics Module for all MSES students required to take NURSG 509.
  • Assists the Program Coordinator with the management of the Health & Wellness Center operations.
  • Processes verification request for students and alumni
  • Processes and maintains information regarding student scholarships and grants
  • Annually revises and maintains the Exercise Science Program Handbooks
  • Maintains student advisor rosters and student files.
  • Coordinates departmental events.

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate or higher education.
  • Experience in Administrative Assistant role preferred.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and prioritize.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in advanced functions of Excel, as well as experience with Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to write reports and correspondence and to speak effectively to various constituencies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information and to handle sensitive matters with judgement, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Able to facilitate teamwork in an environment dealing with a broad range of issues.
