Office of the Provost - Faculty Affairs
This position will serve as the primary administrative support person for the Office of Faculty Affairs.
UMBC offers competitive compensation. This role starts at $39,232 and has 11 days of vacation as well as winter break, spring break, and personal days for regular full time roles. Tuition remission is also available.

A hybrid telework schedule may be available for Maryland residents.
- Coordinating and tracking all financial transactions including: ordering supplies, reconciling purchasing card, maintaining purchasing card records per State of Maryland and University guidelines; and preparing purchase orders
- Making general office purchases
- Making all necessary arrangements for travel and independently performing required administrative follow-up including conference and hotel registration, acting as liaison with travel agencies, and preparing travel expense statements
- Entering, updating, retrieving, and creating reports as needed
- Editing, formatting, and revising a variety of documents and materials created by others. Proofreading for grammatical, typographical and basic content errors. Converting rough copy and drafts to final version quality reports, presentations, and documents
- Posting advertisements for faculty positions
- Receiving and screening phone calls and correspondence
- Scheduling meetings; arranging space and catering as needed
- Developing and maintaining electronic and paper filing systems
- Copying and filing
- Tracking inventory and coordinating repair requests
Requires a High School Diploma/GED and three years of experience providing administrative support. Must have the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions. Must have the ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, email, and electronic calendar systems required.
College level or university experience preferred.
