Position Summary
Position Summary:
This position supports the Health Science programs and the strategic operation of Health, Business, Technology, and Science within Academic Affairs Continuing Education and Workforce Development. The Admissions Coordinator assists the Directors of the Health Science Programs with the recruitment, and processing of applicants for the selective admissions and cohort programs within Health Science. The Admissions Coordinator will manage the selective admissions processes supporting recruitment through program admission for students interested in and applying to the Health Science Programs.
The Admissions Coordinator must have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community and use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
1. Review of FCC transcripts for admissions processes.
2. Communicate with students about incomplete applications/ pending materials for application to selective admissions programs.
3. Confirm calculations generated by the applications using the admissions rubrics to ensure accurate rank-ordering of applicants.
4. Cross check and confirm rubric calculations that set the order/ priority list of accepted students.
5. Reach out to internal students (Pre-health clubs, Pre-health majors, Gen-Ed students, other Science students) about the programs and selective admissions process.
6. Reach out to high-schools / other potential recruiting targets to talk about selective admissions programs.
7. Interface with the CAPs advisors for health science to connect with and assist students applying to the selective admissions programs with the application process.
8. Other duties as determined by the AVP/ Dean of Health, Business, Technology, and Science
Required Minimum Qualifications
1. Associate Degree
2. Two (2) years of experience working within either student advising, student recruitment and / or student admissions
Desired Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree
2. Previous experience within healthcare program selective admissions
3. Experience using Office 365 software
4. Experience using Peoplesoft and Perceptive Content
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
