Admissions Counselor

Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Admissions Counselor works as a member of the admissions team to recruit prospective students for Manhattanville College's undergraduate programs. The Admissions Counselor will develop relationships with high school guidance counselors and teachers, they will participate in high school visits and college fairs, attend professional development opportunities, and they will be assigned to specific travel territories for extensive recruitment throughout the fall and spring. Bilingual/multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Primary Responsibilities

· Assist prospective students with the submission of application documents

· Complete initial application reviews as a member of the first-year applicant admission committee

· Work closely with members of the financial aid team in order to explain pertinent information to families applying for need and merit-based financial aid.

· Extensive travel: 12 weeks in the fall and 8 weeks in the spring.

· Flexibility and willingness to travel long distance

· Availability to work some evenings and weekends is a must

· Participate in professional organizations and professional development opportunities to maintain current trends in college admissions

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Undergraduate Admissions

Other responsibilities include a strong knowledge and understanding of social media applications, interviewing prospective students, working with families who are navigating the college search process, and participation in campus recruitment events.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required; strong interpersonal skills and excellent writing and public speaking skills. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with guidance counselors, prospective students and their families; Valid driver’s license in good standing and access to a vehicle. Preference will be given in the evaluation process to candidates with prior experience working in an undergraduate admissions office. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,500.00 per year
