Department Summary
The School of Public Health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire an Admissions Outreach Coordinator to work specifically with accepted students to lead them to enrollment.

Position Overview
Provides management support for staff in the enrollment and retention of students. This position will provide supervision and coordination for academic programs and services for both our on-campus and online students. The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance of student records, will coordinate and manage operational data systems, and facilitates the transfer and advanced standing requests for students. The team member must have an in depth understanding of admissions and higher education administration.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related professional field and three (3) years of related experience. A combination of education and relevant experience may be substitute for the educational requirement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to demonstrate strong written, oral and social media communication skills.
  • Demonstrate highly organized, with good planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work according to schedules and itineraries but also use good judgement on when to be flexible.
  • Demonstrate discipline and diligence with social media.
  • Ability to be a team player and work well with others.
  • Ability to be a strong multi-tasker.

Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of public health and/or health administration careers, minimum of two years experience in higher education or similar setting.

Job Duties

o
Works with “accepted” applications to convert the applicant to matriculate, objective is to maximize yield rate (accepted/enrolled).

o
Develops “Admitted Student” events to bring accepted students on campus or to connect remotely with faculty. Works with an authorized budget.

o
Responsible for social media management training and updating the “Accepted Students” page of the SPH website.

o
Builds a sense of community with accepted students to ensure enrollment; works to prevent enrollment “melt.”

o
Develops assessment tools (dashboards) to analyze and monitor enrollment progress

o
Coordinates and manages Scholarship awards in conjunction with the SPH Office of Academic Services

o
Keeps abreast of career options for public health and health administration graduates

o
Assists with supervision of staff

o
Acts as a liaison and works with the UNTHSC Office of Admission & Recruitment
