Adolescent Substance Use Therapist
Job description
The Adolescent Substance Use Therapist will provide assessment, counseling, case management, outreach services, and brief intervention related to substance abuse, addiction, and complex conditions. This position reports to the Marin Behavioral Health Program Director. Occasional evening hours are required.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- M.A. in counseling or related field
- Associate or licensed therapist (LMFT or LCSW) with substance abuse experience OR Certified SUD counselor with extensive adolescent experience
- At least two (2) years working with children or adolescents providing counseling to families, individuals, and groups
- Experience working in communities of color
- Clean DMV record; documentation of vehicle insurance
Preferred:
- Experience in working with schools, alcohol and drug issues, and community outreach
Responsibilities:
- Assess the nature and extent of AOD problems and make appropriate referrals. Submit written assessments and recommendations when required by the program.
- Establish individual treatment plans with client collaboration, monitor participation, and progress; modify treatment plans (minimum every 3 months).
- Provide case management services that include ongoing needs assessment, coordination of services, identification of barriers, appropriate referrals, follow-up, and transportation of clients as necessary.
- Provide in-service and educational training to clients, organizations, and the community required by the program.
- Participate in substance abuse outreach activities and advocacy for treatment services as directed by supervisor.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records. Complete all evaluation and record-keeping paperwork.
