The Willingboro Public Library is a stand-alone, municipal library in Willingboro Township, Burlington County. We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and engaged Adult/Young Adult Librarian who is eager for the opportunity to advance their skills and provide engaging adult and young adult programming and services throughout the township. The successful candidate will possess a passion for teen services and the desire to engage in outreach to the teen community.

Major Duties:

· Responsible for programming for adults and teens, including planning, preparation, budgeting, scheduling, implementation, and assessment

· Responsible for the Summer Reading Program for teens, including programming, promotion, school visits, and reporting

· Perform excellent internal and external customer service in response to the information needs of library users and the overall community

· Promote library collections and services to the public both inside and outside of the building

· Evaluate the needs of the community and identify opportunities for new and enhanced programs, services, and collections targeted towards adults

· Evaluate the needs of the community and identify opportunities for new and enhanced programs, services, and collections targeted towards teens

· Participate in collection development, guided by the library's collection development policy

· Prepare displays, exhibits, and book lists. Contribute website and social media content relating to an area of library service.

· Assist in the development of services designed to fulfill the library’s goals.

Qualifications: MLS or MLIS from an ALA accredited institution, one to two years of recent library experience preferred; a Professional Librarian certificate issued by the State of New Jersey is required within one year of employment. The successful candidate must have a strong knowledge of current library technologies and demonstrated experience using technology and digital resources. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential. Students enrolled in a graduate degree library program may be considered if they have educational experience.

This is a full-time, 35 hours per week position with a salary of $45,800/year. Note: This is a Civil Service position. Applicants must comply with the “New Jersey First Act.”
