Location: Detroit Health Department - Detroit, MI 48201

Job Summary: Under general supervision, the HRA is responsible for providing front-line support for COVID-19 testing and reporting, to help school districts identify emerging COVID-related health concerns, and strengthen best health practices by providing consultation, prevention services, and appropriate public health strategies for the district.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Help address the greatest needs in school health, including the health and mitigation challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Collaborate with school’s leadership to:

o Address specific health needs related to COVID-19

o Facilitate other recourses provided by DHD and other outside stakeholders

o Create a reporting process to notify LHD of positive cases of COVID-19

o Obtain additional information for cases important to the investigations

o Provide guidance in times when an outbreak or high case count is identified

  • Record all positive cases to individual Smartsheet
  • Create all necessary reports for outbreaks
  • Collaborate with school leadership and DHD testing team to schedule visits when the following instances occur:

o High case count within the school

o High Community Transmission

o Recent Outbreak(s)

o Post-School Holiday & Events

Job Qualifications:

  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required.
  • Ability to work well with school leadership, state personnel, healthcare professionals and the general public.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office, Outlook and have experience in Data Entry

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or related field
  • Minimum of two to five years of experience.

Job Prerequisites:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Must have a Michigan’s driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation throughout the workday.

Independent Action:

  • Will work independently and within a team.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Position duties and functions may fluctuate as program needs change.


SALARY:
$55,000 yearly (Exempt)
