The ASC hours are from 3:00-6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, of the school year. ASC workers would be assigned to a group of children ranging from PK3-8th grade. Duties include supervising students in centers, recess, homework time and snack. Typical schedules range around 15 hours per week.
JOB Summary: Responsible for the supervision of students in school’s extended care program. Supervise all activities that take place as part of the program and insure the safety of each child attending the school’s extended care program.
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervises all activities to ensure safety at all times
- Reports the Coordinator any problem which may occur with the children
- Performs additional program duties as assigned by the Extended Care Coordinator according to the School’s needs
- Participates in dismissal procedures at the end of after care, ensuring that each child leaves with the appropriate adult (i.e., an authorized adult)
- Greets parents and children with salutations and smiles
- Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
- Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Supports and adheres to the policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese of San Antonio, including the Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees
- Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters
- Communicates effectively with students, parents, and other professionals
- Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
- Attend Archdiocesan, on campus and other in-services as required

- Required to lift or carry supplies, textbooks, furniture, and equipment
- Required to maintain composure and avoid inappropriate displays of anger
- Required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, grab, pull, hear, see, and speak on a daily basis
- Required to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding, writing, and reading
- Required to monitor students in a variety of locations including those with noise, activity, and inclement
Requirements
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED required
2. Creative and passionate about working with children
3. Must pass all State and Archdiocesan background checks
4. Experience in child care preferred and Catholic school environment for students aged 3 through 14 years old.
