POSITION: Summer Program Instructor

LOCATION: School sites in Canyon Country, Castaic, and Newhall

STARTING PAY RATE: $17.00/hr

SCHEDULE: Part time. Afternoon shifts available. Approximately 3-6 hours per day. Schedule and shifts will vary depending on school site assigned.

Ideal candidates are adaptable, energetic, motivated, and have excellent communication and organization skills. Ideal candidates have experience working with school age children in a teaching, tutoring, coaching, or leadership position.

JOB TYPE: Part-time

DESCRIPTION : Program Instructors provide supervision, academic support, and lead enrichment lessons for elementary school students. Candidates must be able to design, coordinate and lead organized fitness activities and enrichment projects such as STEM, art, music, games, and drama.

REQUIREMENTS: Successful applicant must be 18 or older, a high school graduate (or equivalent), pass Livescan background screening, and provide a negative TB certificate.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Supervise all program participants to ensure a safe and organized program
• Must be caring, encouraging, and capable of having positive interaction with students, parents, and team members
• Must be able to design, coordinate and lead organized sports activities and enrichment projects with students
• Must be able to provide academic and mentoring support for students
• Attend events and trainings in the evenings and on weekends as necessary

• Assist with the planning and facilitation of special projects and events

• Assist with the recruitment and retention of students
• Attend staff development trainings and workshops
• Perform other duties as assigned
