JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

What are the needed qualifications of an AirLife High-Risk OB Flight Nurse?

  • Current Colorado Registered Nurse License required.
  • Current BCLS, ACLS and NRP required at time of hire.
  • Advanced certification is acquired within 1 years of hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, B.S.N. preferred. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado.
  • Must be certified in BLS, ACLS, NRP upon hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • STABLE and NCC (core certifications) are highly desirable.
  • Must have RN-C Inpatient Obstetrical Nursing Certification offered through NCC within 1 years of hire.
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills.
  • Provides safe and appropriate patient care within the Standards of Nursing Practice at HealthONE and AirLife.
  • Displays appropriate judgment and problem solving skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
  • Five years acute care / specialty nursing minimum.
  • Prefer Labor/Delivery tertiary care experience.
  • Able to articulate and demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory and practice. Able to articulate and demonstrate knowledge of critical care transport.

JOB OVERVIEW:

You will demonstrate advanced knowledge, skills and understands the unique aspects of the population served in the care of his/her patients.

  • The delivery of care is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety, and learning needs of the individual patient.
  • You will perform only those duties for which he/she has demonstrated competency.
  • Your role performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery within Airlife.
  • Utilizes the nursing process to independently deliver nursing care to critically ill and/or injured patients aboard a variety of vehicles i.e. fixed wing aircraft, rotor wing aircraft, and ground ambulances.
  • Transports are between medical facilities and their diagnosis maybe a medical/surgical, obstetrical, or postpartum diagnosis.
  • You will assist with marketing activities of AirLife or HealthONE/HCA when requested. They may be requested to support research projects also.

Experience:

  • Acute Care/Specialty Nursing: 5 years (Required)
  • Labor/Delivery Tertiary Care: 1 year (Preferred)
