Job description
United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley (UWGLV) seeks an enthusiastic, independent, and professional community based mentor for an exciting AmeriCorps program. An AmeriCorps assignment is a service position that is grant funded and lasts 10 months.This mentor will be placed with the SHINE after-school program located at LB Morris Elementary School in Jim Thorpe. Mentors will assist students with homework, special projects, and nutrition. Days and hours are Monday-Thursday, 3:15pm-6:30pm.
Our main program goals revolve around education utilizing a Social Emotional Learning curriculum in addition to the core components of the hosting program.
Mentors earn a living stipend while serving and may be eligible for a education award at the end of successful service.
