Scotiabank is currently seeking a Analyst, U.S. Risk Governance and Policy Management, to join our growing team! Reporting to the U.S. Head of Risk Governance and Policy, the Analyst will provide support to overseeing Scotiabank U.S. (SBUS) Policy Management program, applying the principles of good governance to the identification, assessment, management, and communication of policy management principles across all operations in the U.S. Also, the Analyst will assist with the administration of the U.S. policy management tool, supporting reporting, quality assurance, and the management of U.S. Policy Documents. Is this role right for you? You will be responsible for:
Championing a client-centric focused culture to deepen relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge to deliver solutions. Relationship management and cross-collaboration including:- Developing and maintaining effective relationships with policy coordinators and departments.
- Coordinating meetings, training, and document reviews.
- Conducting risk governance research and analysis on priority issues.
- Assisting in the administration of the key documents (e.g., SBUS Enterprise Risk Management Framework, SBUS Risk Appetite Framework, SBUS Risk Appetite Metric, SBUS Policy of Policies, committee charters) and their supporting documents.
- Assisting team with additional policy management duties as needed including:
- Providing support to Policy Document owners to transfer documents to the appropriate templates in the policy management tool.
- Assisting in the maintenance of the U.S. policy management system including performing any user acceptance testing pertaining to system upgrades or enhancements implemented by the vendor.
- Reviewing Policy Documents for consistency.
- Identifying, consolidating, and documenting policy management issues, exceptions, and escalations.
- Assisting with policy management reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc basis.
- Assisting in the oversight of projects related to the Policy Management Tool and Policy Management.
Do you have the skills you need to succeed? We'd love to work with you, if you have:
Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent job experience.- Ability to create or revise technical/support documentation with multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts providing input.
- Project management experience.
- Ability to manage time to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet or exceed expectations; ability to take initiative on a given task or project and persist with it to completion.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Experience in document formatting, reviewing, editing, and proofreading with strong attention to detail.
- Championing a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbal and written with all levels including branch staff, operational, and executive management.
- Be able to listen, understand, and negotiate to convince senior management when introducing new ideas and legislated policy recommendations for action or change.
- Able to work effectively in a dynamically changing environment.
- Ability to work independently within minimal supervision.
