Analytics Engineer

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer who likes to work with data, build robust data models that drive business and data science teams to efficient usage of their data assets. Someone who likes to find creative solutions to tough problems, is resourceful in getting things done and is not afraid to jump all in and design new models and offerings for our clients. Focused on ensuring data is modeled effectively for consumption ease of use, and business understanding.


What you will be doing:

  • Work closely with BI, Data Science, and Data Engineering teams to define, design, and build data models and data warehouse applications
  • Design and develop robust data models leveraging various modeling techniques and frameworks (e.g. Vault 2.0, Dimensional Modeling, 3rd Normal Form, etc.)
  • Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models using enterprise modeling tools
  • Create and manage data environments in cloud data platforms like Snowflake
  • Design and develop semantic layers for BI application consumption
  • Have a strong understanding of Information Security principles to ensure compliant handling and management of client data
  • Create data intelligence documentation in the form of data dictionaries and data catalogues
  • Creates testing and validation strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality and accurate data for data science and business intelligence teams
  • Design and manage continuous integration (CI) processes for cloud data warehouse platforms


Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • Expert SQL knowledge
  • Expert data modeling skills with an aptitude to apply the best modeling technique based on unique client settings
  • Well-versed in software engineering best-practices
  • Experience working on projects with cloud data platforms like Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Amazon Redshift, etc.
  • Experience with transformation and modeling workflow tools like “dbt”
  • Experience with one or more semantic and virtualization technologies like AtScale, Denodo, and Azure Analysis Services
  • Experience with at least one BI tool like Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience working on agile delivery projects in a consulting setting, often working on different and multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience working with version control tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket
  • Deep Data Warehousing experience with the ability to optimize performance for target data loading and query / analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal skills when interacting with clients in a clear, timely, and professional manner
  • Excel in team collaboration and working with others from diverse skill sets and background
