Job Description


This position will be instrumental in assisting our Director of Annual Giving with our robust direct response, employee giving and United Way campaigns!! If this sounds like exciting work, we want you to apply!!

This individual will work a hybrid schedule, some days on site and some days remote.

Responsible for coordinating end-to-end logistical support for key elements of the Annual Giving program, including direct response and employee giving strategies. Coordinates engagement and development efforts associated with the continued growth of Annual Giving programs that currently raise more than 2.5 million dollars annually. This role will also serve as a primary point of contact for the sustaining donor and company employee giving programs. Provides additional assistance with other annual programs and tracks budgetary expenses. This key role will help increase philanthropic support across all annual digital and print channels to make Children’s the premier cause in Wisconsin.

Additional duties entail:

  • Exhibit guiding behaviors that reflect Children’s values and support our mission and vision.
  • Support the growth of the direct response program with an annual goal surpassing 1 million dollars, ensuring all elements are gathered to put a mailing into production, including: securing background information for each appeal; liaising with featured families and care providers; pulling reports for vendor partners; and tracking deadlines, both internally and with the direct response agency of record. Serve as the daily point of contact for the direct response agency of record.
  • Serve as primary coordinator to continue growth for Children’s employee giving campaign, with an annual goal surpassing 275,000 dollars. Lead on coordinating logistics and timeline; partnering with Engagement and Philanthropy Communications and system marketing teams to develop any needed marketing materials; and maintaining associated website and donation forms. Serve as the primary point of contact and work in coordination with the Volunteer Officer to create meaningful volunteering opportunities, as appropriate, and other duties as assigned.
  • Serve as agency ambassador for the annual United Way workplace giving campaign, coordinating efforts to raise approximately 325,000 dollars annually. Assist with growing other company employee workplace giving campaigns.
  • Responsible for partnering with Engagement and Philanthropy Communications teammates to source stories for Annual Giving communications, ensuring alignment with overarching annual plan and overall Foundation communications plan and themes.
  • In collaboration with communications teammates, prepare and customize donation forms for annual campaigns, including gathering assets and copy and maintaining source code tracking for email, website and social components, using content management systems and email marketing/marketing automation platforms.
  • Support sustainer and mid-level programs by maintaining reporting to verify accurate coding and tracking in The Raiser’s Edge database, and serving as a single point of contact for inbound/outbound inquires.
  • Assist with the growth of tribute and grateful family programming, including collaborating with the Grateful Family Philanthropy Officer and team on cultivation and tribute initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Stewardship teams to enhance the acknowledgement process for annual, mid-level and tribute gifts; responsible for ensuring campaign-specific donation auto-responders and acknowledgement letters are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Monitor reporting for Annual Giving programs, including appeal dashboards/reports and daily gift reports for gift processing accuracy.
  • Monitor and track expenses and submit invoice requests for payment.
  • Support meeting and exceeding metrics and annual goals for the Annual Giving program.

Candidates should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree or five years of equivalent knowledge required.
  • Two years of related experience. Experience in a nonprofit environment is strongly preferred. Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality when handling donor information. Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet daily demands, as well as respond to urgent situations.
  • Strong project management skills and analytical abilities to support the evaluation of program performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to edit and proofread correspondence, such as appeals, website content and donation forms.
  • Advanced skills using CRM databases, content management systems and project management software. Raiser’s Edge and advanced Excel experience preferred. Email marketing/marketing automation platform experience desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal, prioritization and organization skills. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide-variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Process-oriented, ability to work efficiently and with accuracy.
