What does an Application Engineer do at Rinnai?

Provide engineering solutions to a diverse customer base that include but not limited to MEP professionals, Architects, Builders Mechanical contractors in sizing, design, installation and quotation of commercial and residential water heater heating and space heating solutions, in addition, support Rinnai sales, service, manufacturing reps and distributors in closing opportunities to a win in North America and neighboring emerging markets.


What you will do:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide sizing, design, installation and quotation of commercial and residential water heating and space heating systems that include but not limited to tankless waters heaters, tankless rack systems boilers, and infrared heaters.
  • Research and recommend technologies that work in synergy with Rinnai product line i.e., renewable, and sustainable technologies such as geothermal, solar PV/ thermal and more.
  • Provide comprehensive ROI and lifecycle cost analysis
  • Support Rinnai commercial business managers, corporate account managers, builder sales managers and manufacturer reps in executing timely solutions within a defined SLA timeline.
  • Provide real-time data entry of all commercial opportunities in CRM database
  • Provide system troubleshooting/ diagnostic support and corrective recommendations for all commercial verticals where necessary.
  • Use of SolidWorks CAD package to complete design models/drawings for various made to order (MTO) builds and plumbing schematics incorporating Rinnai product line.
  • Use of ASHRAE and ASPE Application Handbook and other industry calculation methods to size water heaters and space heating equipment.
  • Engage and present to large audiences that include, engineers, contractor, distributor, and more.
  • Follow-up to closure of hot leads by calling and interacting with customers via phone, forging relationships with these customers, with an outgoing spirit and personalities.
  • Embrace and support growing business demands in a changing environment.
  • Awareness and compliance of Company Policies and Procedures.


REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3-5 years Engineering design experience in the Commercial HVAC /Water Heating environment or combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred experience with customer interface.
  • Experience with hydronic heating system design / installation.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks or other similar CAD software is a MUST.

  • Ability to communicate freely with customers and present to a large audience.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical proficiency in related field.
  • High computer literacy.
  • Ability to produce reports on technical issues.
