Applications Engineer
Our Chanhassen, MN facility, part of our Actuation Division, is looking for an additional Applications Engineer to join their team! The Application Engineer will work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and recommend electromechanical actuation solutions that meet their needs. The successful candidate will be organized and have a strong technical background, troubleshooting skills, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions to customers. This role requires support to customers on site, attending trade shows, and traveling to training, seminars, and sales meetings - up to 25% travel.

Your Challenge:
  • Work with customers to understand their technical requirements and recommend electromechanical actuation solutions that meet their needs.
  • Provide technical support to customers and sales teams during the sales process, including product selection, sizing, and application engineering.
  • Develop technical specifications and design documentation for custom actuation solutions.
  • Write technical notes and white papers to answer FAQs.
  • Design trade show demos to creatively display the capabilities of our various products.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to develop and test new actuation products and features.
  • Conduct technical training and product demonstrations for customers and sales teams.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies related to electromechanical actuation.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to deliver high-quality solutions to customers.

Your Expertise:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably mechanical or electrical - or similar education and experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in application engineering, preferably in electromechanical actuation.
  • Strong technical background in electromechanical actuation systems, including motors, drives, and controllers.
  • Experience with CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Experience with engineering software such as ServoSOFT.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organization and documentation skills, with a high attention to detail.
  • Passion for continuous learning.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
