Job description

Yokogawa Fluence Analytics, which was named as a Top 50 global advanced manufacturing startup by CB Insights, provides patented process analytics and control solutions to polymer and biopharmaceutical customers worldwide. Yokogawa Fluence Analytics is a global leader in real-time polymer reaction monitoring and control, and its industry-leading ACOMP product is the only commercially available smart manufacturing system that continuously monitors and measures polymerization reactions.
The successful Applications Engineer has worked directly with instrumentation, analyzers, or other complex equipment in academic/industrial environments, either in R&D or as a technical sales representative or has equivalent relevant experience. This individual is highly motivated, combining strong analytical skills, intuitive scientific knowledge, especially polymer/materials characterization, and business expertise, and is willing to go above and beyond to get things done. Experience working with customers and the ability to relate their processes needs back to ACOMP (Automatic Continuous Online Monitoring of Polymerization reactions) is very important. Background in chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, materials engineering/science, polymer science/engineering, instrumentation, or mechanical engineering is the potential attribute of our ideal candidate. A great fit for this position has excellent written and verbal communication skills and is very good at interacting with multiple teams within Fluence and with external stakeholders and customers. This position, working at a fast-paced startup, is ideal for a self-motivated individual looking for a challenge, a lot of responsibility, autonomy, and willingness to pitch in where needed. Great hands-on experience with polymerization reactions is a plus.
