Architect – Position and Responsibilities
As an Architect with Middough, you will be responsible for directing an architectural design team in development of smaller, architectural-based projects throughout the entire project cycle from initial concept through successful completion. The Architect will manage the organization, control, integration, and completion of a design only project or the design portion of a design/construct project to ensure that the goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with the scope, budget, and schedule conditions as established by the terms of the contract. The Architect is also responsible for coordination with necessary support disciplines with respect to the development of the project.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Plan work, manage the scope of work, address changes as added scope and work, adjust the deliverables as necessary, and complete the work within the budget and scheduled time frame.
  • Work under the MAPP (Middough Advanced Project Procedures) to ensure Quality Assurance and Quality Control for all projects.
  • Use REVIT to take a project from the proposal stage to demonstrate to a client the full BIM execution potential.
  • Apply advanced architectural principles, theories and concepts of design to develop creative, cost-effective solutions to complex building designs.
  • Use creative and innovative thought process to deliver ultimate project solutions.
  • Be the lead Architect on projects as needed.

Education, Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following:
  • Accredited Bachelors or Master of Architecture required.
  • State Licensed RA.
  • LEED professional accreditation preferred
  • 10-15 years of Architecture work experience required.
  • Experience using AutoCAD with advanced REVIT skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and CSI Masterspec Specification editing.
  • Knowledge of ANSI, cGMP, FDA, FM Global & NFPA standards.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills within pertinent engineering disciplines (Civil, Structural, Plumbing, Mechanical, Fire Protection and Electrical).
  • Experience in performing Architectural workflows from Programing through Construction Documents, and Construction Administration Services.
  • Knowledge of the International Building Code and ability to recognize hazards and life safety on projects for Code Analysis preparation.
  • Ability to work independently as well as manage groups to facilitate the execution of tasks efficiently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and be highly organized for effective project planning.

  • May require occasional car or air travel to other company locations or client sites.
  • This position requires the candidate/employee to possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence.
